‘Suits’ season 6, episode 7 preview: Mike hits his moral crossroads
It’s almost ironic that “Suits” created this huge moral dilemma for itself surrounding a character currently sitting in prison, but that’s how it goes sometimes with this show. It loves to circumvent expectations and come up with situations that totally work when they wouldn’t under different circumstances.
Going into Wednesday night’s “Shake the Trees,” here’s the situation: Mike Ross finally has the information that he needs to help implicate William Sutter and earn his freedom. However, at the same exact time doing so would shatter his cellmate Kevin Miller. Through most of his time in prison, he didn’t realize that Kevin’s wife could also be implicated if he gave up the information. Knowing that complicates things, given that it would impact Kevin’s children and his entire life.
Mike at times may be a hustler and extremely crafty, but he’s not a bad person at heart. He struggles with right and wrong, and what is good for him may be bad for almost everyone else. Sure, Harvey, Sean Cahill, and Rachel would win with his release (the same goes for most of Pearson Specter Litt), but what about the other side, the people you don’t see on the show?
You can see much of the drama play out in the video preview for this episode at this link; we’re going to personally continue to hope that there is a way to get Mike out of this that doesn’t involve Kevin’s wife being arrested, as well. Isn’t it possible that someone could work out a deal?
Elsewhere in the episode, be prepared to see more bumps in the road as Rachel and Jessica team up to try and free Leonard Bailey from death row.
