‘The Bachelorette’: JoJo Fletcher spoofed by Kristen Wiig on ‘The Tonight Show’

One of the more hilarious bits that has been going on with “The Tonight Show” as of late has been Kristen Wiig coming on the show repeatedly, but very rarely doing so as herself. Almost as though she is suddenly Sacha Baron Cohen, she instead appears as a wide array of different real-life people to talk about things going on in the news.

The big difference here is that while Cohen’s characters are well-crafted and deliberate, JoJo is trying to be intentionally bad with most of hers. Take, for example, her version of Dany from “Game of Thrones” who knew almost nothing about “Game of Thrones,” or last night, her take on “The Bachelorette” star JoJo Fletcher. This was consistently funny from start to finish, especially as she made up nicknames for all of the guys and also explaining the meaning of the fantasy suite.

The good news is that Fletcher seems to have a pretty good sense of humor about the spoof, judging from what she wrote about it on Twitter after the fact. Hopefully, she is enjoying what will probably be the peak period of her fame at the moment.

The next new episode of “The Bachelorette” airs on Monday, and JoJo will be visiting hometowns then. You gotta hope things go well for her there; if not, she may at least be able to look back fondly on her singing career brought to the table during this interview. It’s completely ridiculous, but we’re going to deny that we laughed and laughed often during this.
