‘The Bachelorette’ spoilers: Robby Hayes, James Taylor, and some penalty-kick competition (video)
Monday night’s new episode of “The Bachelorette” is right about here, and over the course of these two hours coming up in particular, it looks like there is going to be, once again, competition over a sport. At least this time around it’s a little more lighthearted than some of the sports battles that we’ve seen in the past.
In the sneak peek below, you can get a good sense as to precisely what we’re talking about. The likes of Jordan Rodgers, Robby Hayes, Alex Woytkiw, James Taylor, and Luke Pell are going to be competing for attention on a soccer-themed date, and eventually some of the local players in Argentina convince the guys to try and make a penalty kick in return for a kiss. For most of them, this doesn’t go well, but we like Robby thinking on his feet and offering to pay off the goalie! Humor is something that these guys really don’t use enough, and it’s a shame since this is one of the few things that could really help them stand out more amidst the competition.
Ultimately, it is James Taylor who ends up nailing the kick! What we really like about him here is that he is one of the few guys to really acknowledge the fact that he is probably one of the underdogs, and needs to do something in order to shine. He’s not confident, but doesn’t seem to be doing it in a woe-is-me way. We like that, though we’ve also been a fan of James’, mostly because he looks kind of like a sitcom character and he’s a little goofier than some of the others.
