‘MasterChef’ season 7, episode 4 preview: Is Nathan running away during the Team Challenge?

Wednesday night’s new episode of “MasterChef” proved itself to be a largely-entertaining affair, at least when it comes to giving us a one-episode story of Bill, the oldest competitor this season, and his failures to really be able to get things together in the kitchen. He was a nice guy, but some people just aren’t really made for this sort of competition.

So where are we going from here? As you saw at the end of tonight, Terry and Nathan, who surged back after a rough go during the Mystery Box Challenge, were the strongest home cooks during the Elimination Challenge, and they are therefore the Team Captains during the new Team Challenge outside. This is one of the burdens that comes with proving yourself, since this early in the season teams can be super-volatile. The cooks will be catering a wedding, and things seem to be falling apart for two very different reasons.

1. Nathan seems to be struggling to get his team on the same page and valuing his leadership. The preview that we saw tonight made it seem as though he was running away from the group, but at present, we have a really hard time believing that to be the case. After all, we do know that these can be incredibly misleading when it comes to the story that we are actually seeing.

2. Someone is going to try and serve raw food, and there is nothing that Gordon Ramsay hates more than people who don’t properly cook their proteins all the way through.
