‘UnREAL’ season 2 spoilers: The latest investigation into all things Rachel

With the second season of “UnREAL” premiering on Lifetime come Monday night, you know that there is going to be a heck of a lot to look forward to. Just remember here that you’ve got romantic lives, the show-within-a-show that is “Everlasting,” and some other issues to attend to on a weekly basis. The show is just an hour long, and that hour is going to roll by rather quickly thanks to all of the shocking and dramatic moments you can expect to see.

We feel like we’ve spent a lot of time discussing the reality TV part of things with this show, so why not put a different focus from and center here with this teaser? Per TVLine, executive producer Sarah Gertrude Shapiro makes it clear that Rachel’s mental health is going to be somewhat of a focus for the second season, and you are going to see more appearances from her mother as a means to further flesh the character out:

“It was something that was woven in and out [in a] subtle way in Season 1. I don’t think we’re ever going to solve it… but we are going to go ahead and let the cray-cray fly.”

We think that there is at least one part of the equation when it comes to Rachel’s mental state that is fairly easy to solve here. After all, just remember for a minute that she is a producer on a reality TV show that often exploits the mental health of other people, and the psychological damage being done to them has to take a toll over time. It’s the part of reality TV that is never thought of or looked at by the viewers, so it’s something that we want to see explored further on this show.
