‘Britain’s Got Talent’ review: Josh Curnow, Mythical PSM and much more
“Britain’s Got Talent” this weekend is going to be back with a wide array of talent, and of course we’re happy to be back with another live review! While there may not be many Golden Buzzers, there are some interesting acts who have a shot at making it to the live shows.
Refresh this article over the course of the night, as we’ll have some other updates on the various acts.
Mythical PSM – Conspiracy theory: Does Cowell or someone at Syco try to get Fleur East into as many different dance medleys as possible? This song seems to be almost everywhere in some of these routines. These guys aren’t altogether polished, but they’re energetic and fun. That does mean a lot.
Saolo – We suppose this is pole-dancing, but this is also acrobatic, dangerous, and utterly fantastic. A nice breath of fresh air from some of the other acrobat acts that we’ve seen on the show over time.
Khronos Agoria – They didn’t have the playfulness of Mythical, but they had probably tighter choreography and movement. We’ll just have to see what sets them apart in the live rounds.
Josh Curnow – Quite possibly the best audition we’ve heard from a male singer since Calum Scott. Super-powerful, super-unique, and we even loved the tone of his voice. There was something surprisingly vulnerable about this.
Chloe Fenton – Very good for a young dancer. Did this feel a little too much like a pageant performance to us? Probably, but with a higher production value, we do certainly think that this could change.
Morgan Connie Smith – We have one of these every season: A singer who Simon stops in the middle of a performance, only for them to do another song and completely kill it.
David Forest – He’s a sweet man, and an inspiration to other people his age. Of course, the issue we have with him moving forward is that he was not 84, especially since his song about the bus driver lasted far longer than the standard one, at least per the show’s editing of the whole ordeal.
Deja Vu – Similar to Khronos earlier in the episode, they were a very strong dance crew, but not necessarily anything new or worth jumping up and down over with excitement.
Flying Bebop – What in the world was this? We’re not entirely sure, since it was one part dance act, one part technology spectacle, and another part just plain unusual. But hey, we’re down for more of a flying dance act.
Ana and Fia – Our final act of the night, and one that has the potential to go far: A mother / daughter singing duo, and both have incredible voices. They could legitimately make it very far in the show!
