‘Britain’s Got Talent’ preview: Is Balance the new ‘Evolution of Dance’?

We’ve seen a ton of dance acts on “Britain’s Got Talent” over the years, and we’ll be honest here when we say that for the most part, the vast majority of them are known for doing the same exact thing. They go on stage, and then perform a solid but most-forgettable routine. It’s even harder to remember the groups; other than Diversity and Boyband, we’d have to go and look up some others before we could even state them in this article.

We do think that Balance needs to come up with a better name for his act, since there’s a zero percent chance we’re going to be remembering that by the time a week or two passes. His act, however, is a completely different story. While we know that there are other acts out there who do this, with the “Evolution of Dance” on YouTube being the most famous, we really like just how committed he is to nailing every step of this. There is diversity (not the group this time) to every move that he makes, and he hits all of them really hard.

Also, he gets Alesha Dixon up and dancing during the act! He also gets a standing ovation from all of the judges.

The real challenge for him after he inevitably makes it to the live shows (the judges would be batty to eliminate him before then) is how to find an element of surprise here with it. He’ll either have to come up with a ton of other dance styles and hope people still care, or add another layer of production to it.
