NBC’s ‘The Voice’ results: Did #VoiceSave help keep Owen Danoff, Emily Keener around?

VoiceWhile tonight is not the first “The Voice” results show of the season, it is the first to bring back a popular twist that makes watching live all the more essential: The Instant Save. It’s a way to help some artists out, and ensure that the viewing public gets involved in saving them right away. We’re, of course, going to have some more news on the show as the night progresses, so be sure to check back soon for more updates.

We’ll start by chronicling the list of artists who are saved, beginning here with Adam Wakefield and Alisan Porter. These two were announced near the start of the show, and judging based on sales alone on iTunes, there was really no doubt that the two would be coming back. In the second group, Daniel Passino (slight surprise?) and Bryan Bautista got through.

Now, another surprise: Paxton Ingram is safe! We’re not as surprised about Shalyah Fearing based on the iTunes sales from the night before, plus that she went last. Laith Al-Saadi was also declared safe.

The bottom two – Owen Danoff and Emily Keener. This was STUNNING to us given that both of these singers have a ton of potential, and neither by our money deserved to be here. Emily even sold really well on iTunes! That makes this all the more shocking. Based on the performances tonight, we’d go with Emily, and that makes us only sad because we also like Owen.

In the end, Owen was safe! Congrats to his fans, and it’s a bummer that Emily has to go given she was stronger than many people still there.
