‘Big Brother Canada’ interview: Tom Plant on shower incident with Alec, final 2 goal

ThomasOn this season of “Big Brother Canada,” there are a number of big personalities that occasionally came across as more than a little bit polarizing to viewers. However, were there any that made the same sort of impression as Thomas “Tom” Plant? We’re not quite sure. He was outspoken, controversial, loyal to a fault, and often overconfident in his time in the game, and it was some of these reasons (coupled with being a major competition threat) that got him sent out the door on Thursday night.

While we almost wish that Tom had been able to wait a little longer before doing interviews since he had some more time to digest everything that happened to him, we got a chance to pick his brain a little bit on Friday afternoon about where his alliance truly lied first and foremost, and also that “shower incident” with Alec that drew so much attention on TV.

Cartermatt.com – Let’s start with something strategic. Over the past few days, you grew closer to Liza than even before in the game. Were you getting to the point where, had you both been able to stay, you would have actually decided to be in the final two with her over Emmett?

Tom Plant – Honestly man, I would’ve stuck with Emmett until the end of the game. That’s something that I told Liza: as true as my feelings were and are for her 100%, Emmett was my bromance, man. We were going to go final two from the beginning.

When the whole shower incident with Alec played out, it seemed based on your behavior as though you were acting in the same way that guys do in a locker room, and you did not intend for him to have a strong emotional reaction to it. Is that fair?

Totally. It was messing around with one of my boys, to have fun and joke around. When it seriously offended him personally, it tore me up. It felt like I just hit my little brother, and it was really unfortunate.

I don’t think it had a true role in him evicting me, as I think it was his plan the whole time to get strong players out of the game. I do feel bad that it happened, but at the same time I think that if you walk around half-naked throughout the whole show and present yourself in that manner, you’re susceptible to a little bit of pranking. I feel bad on a personal level, but I don’t regret doing it, if that makes sense.

We do also have another exit interview coming up with Liza, so stay tuned for that a little later in the day. What do you think of Tom’s explanation for the shower incident? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can also read our full review of the double-eviction episode here. (As of this publication, the live feeds are still down. Boo.)
