ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5: What could be next for Susan Ross, David Rosen?

On this past episode of “Scandal,” we had a chance to learn a thing or two about Susan Ross’ secret for the first time. While we don’t want to necessarily say that she was a character surrounded previously by purity, we did not realize that she had a history of infidelity and other skeletons she did not want popping out of the closet.

As if that was not bad enough for her, she also has to continue along what is effectively a sham relationship with David Rosen, a guy she doesn’t actually have feelings for at this point thanks to his own cheating. In detailing the future of that relationship to TV Guide, Artemis Pebdani had the following message to pass along:

“I can’t even imagine what that’s like. Every day you have to get up and kind of live this lie for everybody to see. You go to sleep knowing you have to wake up again and live that lie. This also part of Susan being in the club. Now she’s going to have to play this game. This game – if I want to be president, she can’t completely absolve herself of everything icky or gross. There is a certain level of nasty that she’s just going to have to be part of.”

Of course, there’s a part of us that feels for David in this spot given that it wasn’t his idea in the slightest to mislead Susan, but he still went along with it and then realized he had feelings for her down the road. He made his own bed, and it feels almost impossible for him to win her back … especially when there is an Elizabeth North part of this equation still floating around out there.
