‘Survivor: Kaoh Rong’ episode 6 video: An immunity challenge packed with intrigue

While we don’t quite know if Wednesday night’s new episode of “Survivor: Kaoh Rong” is the last one before the merge, but we do suspect that it may be given some past airing patterns. If that turns out to be the case, there is one thing that you can almost certainly expect: An especially intriguing immunity challenge.

While we know there are some people out there who do not advocate for throwing challenges, if there ever was a good one to throw, this one is it. Have a person who you know will not be on your side at the merge? Then this is a smart move. The same goes for if you know there is an ally on the other side who would go home if there is tribal council.

On this particular occasion, we’re not sure if there is a huge incentive for either tribe to throw it given the present dynamics. Maybe Michele and Nick on Chan Loh could be worried about either Julia or Tai going home given what happened to Anna, but are either one of them so willing to put their own necks on the line for them in a tribe with three alliances of two? We doubt it. It feels like everyone’s going to try, with Peter being the only person we could see Gondol maybe throwing the challenge to get rid of, just to knock down the Brains’ numbers. However, why do that when Peter already knows he’s at the bottom of the Brains.

Given the tribe makeup, it’s not exactly surprising that Gondol is trailing in the sneak peek below, but they may have an advantage in a later stage of it thanks to having a guy in Scot who can just throw people up something that they would otherwise have to scale.
