NBC’s ‘The Voice’ to help launch ‘Game of Silence’

If there is one thing that NBC loves almost as much as they love “The Voice,” it is finding ways to use “The Voice” to launch some of their other programs.

Therefore, you really cannot be even remotely shocked to learn what the network is plotting at the moment with their new drama series “Game of Silence.” According a new report coming in right now from Deadline, the drama is going to now premiere on April 12 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time, just to try to make good on the lead-in that comes before it in the singing show. We’ve included the trailer below in order for you to learn a little bit more about its story; just disregard the premiere date listed at the end.

As for whether or not this will actually work to get the show some more attention, we’d say right now that it could. After all, “Superstore,” “Blindspot,” “Chicago Fire,” and “The Blacklist” are examples of shows that have aired after “The Voice” and eventually been renewed for another season. Granted, there have also been others to failed to get the same sort of love. Do you remember “State of Affairs” starring Katherine Heigl at NBC last year? They had at one point hopes that it was going to be their next big thing.

One other thing potentially working against “Game of Silence” is that while “The Voice” is strong, we’re not exactly sure that it is the same sort of monster lead-in for the network that it once was.
