‘Quantico’ episode 12 review: Where the truth lies
It is easy to feel for Alex Parrish on “Quantico,” given that no matter what seems to be happening around her on the series, one thing appears to be constant: Nobody ever seems keen to listen to her, even if she is largely telling the truth.
The latest example of this said thing comes in the future, when Alex was convinced that Elias was not acting alone, but she had a near-impossible job convincing anyone to agree with this sentiment. Eventually, she realized that she was right courtesy of some creeper with a voice-box calling her up and admitting it. With that, she’ll continue to have to act to figure out exactly who was working with them, and what they want with her now. The end of the episode teased that no matter what is coming up, it involves Alex having to work with this terrorist or run on the risk of another bomb blowing up … and this time, it could be on her hands.
While we’re still not entirely sure of Caleb’s status in the future, obviously many familiar faces are all there in the past … but the irony is that we really could not care less about this at the moment. The future is so much more exciting, and all of the new arrivals just feels more like high-school drama than anything else.
We’ve said this before, but it still bears repeating: If “Quantico” stuck to one timeline, it could be the network TV version of “Homeland.” It needs to be a little less like everything else on ABC, and a little more like everything on cable. Priyanka Chopra is excellent, and there is potential in the current future storyline … provided we see enough of it. Grade: B-.
