‘Big Brother Canada 4’ prediction: Who will be the winner?
We are the first people to admit that we’re not always great at reality TV predictions. However, we feel like we’ve been pretty in-tune with “Big Brother Canada.” We called Jillian as the season 1 champ, just as we also picked Jon Pardy for season 2. We were a little more off-base with Willow in season 3, but to be fair we also think that she was a victim of a really flukey triple-eviction episode, one of the many weird things that happened over the course of that season.
So here we are, ready to call our winner yet again for the fourth season. We’re not going to go through placements for the entire cast, but we thought that we would at least go through the top five with a few other assorted picks thrown in there. For the record, we’re basing these picks almost entirely on the pre-game impressions that we had speaking with the players before the game. (You can read those right now over here.)
First person out – Joel Lefevre. We hate saying this, since we really like Joel a lot and feel like we’d probably get along with him really well in life. There are a lot of things unfortunately stacked against him here. First, he’s a nerdy-looking superfan coming in after Ian Terry and Steve Moses. Also, he’s a little older than those guys, and he doesn’t have the same puppy-dog charm to him.
We don’t want to necessarily make this article all about us with obscure references that few people out there will get, but maybe those who actually watched our season of “Beauty and the Geek” will appreciate this. Joel reminds us a lot of a guy who was on our season named Jonathan, someone who was incredibly kind and sweet once you got to know him, but was also socially-awkward and couldn’t find ways to connect. Like Joel, Jonathan was a little older, and was targeted almost from the beginning of the game. Sometimes, people aren’t always willing to make the effort to get to know you.
International stars entering the game – Tim Dormer and Nikki Grahame. Nikki entering the house is the safest prediction of all time; no offense to Veronica Graf, but this is cut-and-dry to us. She’s one of the biggest stars in the history of the British “Big Brother,” and she’ll be great TV.
Tim is a little more of a gamble, since we’re relying on superfans knowing him and voting for him over someone in Jase Wirey who is more familiar to North American audiences. We think either would bring something to the game, but Tim is so bold and so charismatic that he’s a hard person to pass up. He was probably one of our favorite pre-game conversations just because he was so funny and genuine. We wanted to hang out with him!
5th Place – Tim Dormer. Yep, we’re really taking a big gamble with Tim that his game will translate over here. We never saw him on the Australian show, but through our conversation and our research, we think that he does have the tools to do well in this game. People will like him, and he’ll be a great target for people to hide behind for a time.
4th Place – Kelsey Faith. Every season there’s one person who you completely forget about who somehow makes it far. This year, it feels destined to be Kelsey. She doesn’t know the show, seems there mostly for the experience, and will probably barely be present on TV for the first half of the season. She’ll just end up going home her because she is a part of some other alliance, and she could get a couple of jury votes as a result.
3rd Place – Mitchell Moffit. Mitchell has it all going for him entering the game. He’s super-charismatic, knows the show, loves the show, and will probably be really good at putting people at ease. He’s the sort of person who could easily win the game … but we don’t see him winning the competitions that he needs to at the very end. He won’t get to take part in part 3 of the final Head of Household, and that will cost him.
2nd Place – Dallas Cormier. Dallas has some Jon Pardy qualities to him in that he’s very social, likable, and has the sort of unassuming background that makes you want to be around him. We don’t think that he will be a strategic beast in the house, though, which makes him a great person to take to the end in this circumstance. We think he won’t be able to take advantage of the same opportunities Jon did.
Winner – Cassandra Shahinfar. We’re taking a big gamble here given that she’s not someone who is a top pick for many people out there. We’ve even heard about her pre-naming alliances in other interviews, which is never a good thing. All we can say is that when we spoke to her, she came across as someone with a serious diabolical side who knew how to play the game, and when to make the moves that she needed to in order to win.
