ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 5 spoilers: Annabeth Gish of ‘Sons of Anarchy,’ ‘The Bridge’ to appear
“Scandal” has has found another interesting person to add it its season 5 arsenal, but in true Shonda Rhimes fashion, they’re not letting us know very much at all beyond the name.
For the time being, here is what we know. According to a new report from Deadline, Annabeth Gish of “The Bridge” and “Sons of Anarchy” fame will be recurring in several episodes later this year … and that’s about it. If we were to speculate, maybe we could come up with at least a few interesting theories.
1. Maybe Gish is someone who needs the help of Olivia Pope & Associates, and her requests have far-reaching consequences beyond just what happens with a singular case.
2. Maybe she is brought in as a different sort of fixer, someone who tries to at least help President Grant end his second term in a way that is not a complete disaster.
3. Finally, maybe she is someone responsible for helping Mellie start to become more and more of a viable Presidential candidate. Following her Planned Parenthood filibuster, we imagine that Bellamy Young’s character will be in some ways a folk hero to many on the show when it turns. Not only that, but there could be a little bit of common ground, believe it or not, between her and Olivia. This could be something extremely interesting to watch.
“Scandal” returns with new episodes on Thursday, and what we can tell you for now is that there will be a time jump, and at least to a certain extent, you’re going to see the series return to more of its roots.

We obviously don’t watch the same show.
