‘Daredevil’ season 2 spoilers: Exec on adding The Punisher, Elektra to the story

The second season of “Daredevil” is coming to Netflix on March 18, and with that there are definitely many awesome things that you can expect to see. What’s near the top of the list? Of course it has to be none other than Elektra and The Punisher appearing, given that they are such iconic comic-book characters, and you can definitely make the case that neither one of them has really been done right by any live-action product over the years.

Will this change on this particular series? Hopefully, and it seems like one of the real things that the producers tried to implement here was patience rather than shoving any individual character down your throat. Specifically, here is what executive producer Marco Ramirez had to say at the TCA Winter Press Tour (per TV Guide) on the subject:

“We just wanted it to feel as organic as possible. We wanted to mix in one ingredient at a time … One of the pitfalls when we have this many great characters to play with is wanting to throw them all at the wall at the same time and say, ‘Look at all the fun stuff we have!’ It was an exercise in patience as two huge fans to try to hold back and say, ‘Let’s be very careful about this, let’s make sure that even people who aren’t aware of who Elektra and Punisher are will be with us on this journey.'”

We have a feeling that viewers are going to be excited, mostly because of the fact that these two bring such history and excitement to the world. We’ll figure out what we think of their portrayals in due time…
