NBC’s ‘The Voice’ finale performances: Coldplay, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, and more
Tonight, “The Voice” is airing its season finale, and there are going to be some big performances! Also, there are going to be a few other performances that we’re going to forget about the moment after they happened. That’s why some of the ones we’re including in this “highlights” article are the ones that are actually a little more memorable.
We’ll be updating this article as the night goes on, so be sure to keep checking back for some further updates!
Zach Seabaugh and Barrett Baber, “Forever and Ever Amen” – We prefer these smaller duets to the big hodgepodge performances the show has done in the past. At least there was some sort of element of control in this.
Coldplay, “Adventure of a Lifetime” – Like many Coldplay songs, this is admittedly one that we didn’t necessarily love in the early going. However, over time this started to pick up a little bit of steam, and it’s now one of our favorite singles out there. Also, we feel like we can dance like Chris Martin. Isn’t that a talent like anything else?
Emily Ann Roberts and Ricky Skaggs, “Country Boy” – Early indicators had Skaggs performing with Barrett, but it’s Emily who gets the honor. Fun performance! Emily looked a little nervous, but who wouldn’t be?
Jeffery Austin and Madi Davis – Love the energy here. Really organic and fun. It wasn’t the most stunning vocal performance in the history of mankind, but at the same time it wasn’t designed to be. Sometimes, it’s great to have a performance just be what it is, and that is enjoyable and easy to listen to.
Missy Elliott and Pharrell – We have no clue what this was; yet, at the same time, we found it entertaining in an odd sort of way.
Jordan Smith and Usher, “Without You” – More or less exactly what we thought it would be. Lots of long notes and people standing in one place. Still, good vocals.
Jeffery Austin and Tori Kelly, “Hollow” – Rough start by Jeffery. However, incredible finish.
Barrett Baber and Wynonna Judd, “No One Else on Earth” – Awesome. May be the best Barrett performance of the whole season.
The Weeknd medley – Let’s face it: You probably either loved it or hated it. The Weeknd’s charm and vocals at this point are mostly subjective, since almost everyone has heard him perform.
Justin Bieber – Well, let’s just say that he is even more polarizing than The Weeknd, but not just because of his music. We do think that he’s got some catchy tunes on his new album, but his vocals on his live performances are always shaky.
