‘Sherlock’ season 4 spoilers: Mark Gatiss hints at ‘life-changing’ repercussions to Moriarty message
“Sherlock” season 3 ended in a way that certainly caused quite a stir among the fan base, with a message from Moriarty suggesting that the character (played by Andrew Scott) could actually still be alive.
Is he? That is something that the show and Scott have been very coy on responding to, and we imagine that they’ll try their best not to until whenever the fourth season premieres. For now, all Mark Gatiss will say on the subject of the fourth season is the following to Entertainment Weekly:
“Well, it’s some more adventures. Ha ha! All I can say is, this is a major, life-changing series for the regulars. The repercussions of Moriarty’s apparent return are far-reaching. It’s very big stuff.”
Given that there are no specific dates at the moment as to when season 4 is going to even film, let alone premiere, there are still many questions that still are to be answers. “Sherlock: The Abominable Bride” is the next episode to air come New Year’s Day, but we are going back to the Victorian Era for a story that is non-canon and designed to only bit a bit of one-off fun in the classic vein of the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle stories. If there are any clues in this special as to what could be coming in season 4, we imagine that they will be of the Easter egg variety not directly related to the show as a whole.
