‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 11 video: Toby meets Willie McGinest

We’ve complained here and there over the past year about CBS shoehorning NFL personalities into many of their shows, but we have to say that we actually enjoy the one below featuring legendary player Willie McGinest. He will be stopping by “Scorpion” on Monday night, and receive a very thorough analysis as to how he managed to set a record for postseason sacks courtesy of Toby.

The best way that we can really describe this sneak peek is a perfect exercise in someone not getting the hint. For one reason or another, Toby just cannot understand that Willie, who is working on a study here, is actually trying to empower him by talking about his sacks. Instead, he theorizes that he broke the record in part because he had so many opportunities to play in playoff games.

In theory, Toby’s probably right … but that’s never really been the problem for some of the geniuses on this show. Instead, it’s a little bit more about their execution / occasional failure to read some of the context clues that are right in front of their faces.

As for why Toby runs into him in the first place, the entire team is doing some undercover work in this episode at a place of higher learning, and it is his responsibility to go to a job interview. Willie hears him complaining about it over the phone, which leads to the two of them striking up a conversation in the first place about being more positive.
