‘The Flash’ season 2, episode 9 video: Mark Hamill and a dangerous Christmas

Hamill -

The Flash” typically airs promos for their upcoming episodes following their most-recent ones, but things were a little muddy this past week following the crossover event. Luckily, we’re pleased to have for you now a first look at “Running to Stand Still,” the last episode of 2015 airing on Tuesday night. While you may not see much when it comes to the Zoom story in this episode, you’re going to get a team-up of villains like never before as some people are out to destroy The Flash’s holiday spirit.

Specifically, the three villains surfacing here are the Trickster (Mark Hamill), the Weather Wizard (Liam McIntyre), and once again this season Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller). Given that this is likely the latter’s final appearance on the show before “Legends of Tomorrow,” hopefully there is something in here that will segue over to what we’re going to see for the character over there.

As for the other two, we’re just happy to see them. The Trickster always brings a certain element of chaos, and what we really enjoy about him in particular is that he is the rare Flash villain who is not so reliant on meta-human abilities in order to torment the city. The Wizard has origins at least tangentally to the pilot episode, so we’re always glad to have him back, as well.

Also of note for this episode is the presence of Patty Spivot in danger; with that, it feels more and more likely that Barry is going to have to reveal who he really is to her if he wants that relationship to work. Of course, the question that goes along with that is if he wants to take that leap, given that his trust of other people is not exactly at an all-time high.
