‘Scorpion’ season 2, episode 11 review: Are Happy and Toby back together?

ScorpionThe last episode of “Scorpion” (which was a while ago since it took a bit of a break over Thanksgiving) was easily the most heartbreaking episode that they have ever had. Megan passed away and everyone’s hearts were broken including ours. We expect that Sylvester and Walter are going to have a very hard time bouncing back from this and that there will be a long healing process.

It has been six weeks since Megan’s passing and Sylvester seems to be holding up okay, but misses her every day (Happy even made him a huge picture frame full of hearts for photos of Sylvester and Megan). Walter on the other hand seems to be “fine”, but Paige calls him out on hiding his feelings the past few weeks (which of course he is). Walter is focusing on Ray and the upcoming anniversary of his partner’s death instead of dealing with his own feelings about Megan’s passing. Walter is trying to prove that the tank Ray’s partner had on was defective so that Ray wouldn’t feel like he was to blame for the death and Walter is able to prove that it wasn’t Ray’s fault! This helps Ray move himself forward and out of the garage. He’s ready to face the world… have we lost Ray forever?

The case of the week sent our team back to college, which was an experience that everyone hated (except for Paige, who thought it was a lot of fun). Seeing team Scorpion take on these different roles to infiltrate the school was priceless including Happy ripping up a fraternity sweater and Sylvester’s first “wrestling move” consisting of backing out the door on all fours.

Toby had to face the man that he blames for stealing his fiancee, but this man reminds Toby that he spent more time at the card tables and race tracks then with his woman and that he really has no one to blame but himself. Toby’s expression said it all… he knows he messed that up. Happy sees that Toby is feeling down, and after having a small break through of her own (realizing she needs to let down her shield) she shares a dance with Toby. So romantic!

We loved this episode! After having a few episodes in a row that broke our hearts into a million pieces over Megan’s death, we really needed a fun silly episode like this. Any episode that has our team going under cover and being put into situations that make them uncomfortable is a win in our books. Also, we have been aching for Toby and Happy to get back together and we finally have some movement on this. Episode grade: A
