‘The Muppets’ spoof Adele’s ‘Hello’ in American Music Awards ad
We’ll give the team over at “The Muppets” a little bit of credit here: They have figured out a way to spoof Adele’s “Hello” in a way that is still funny.
You see, we’ve probably seen about two hundred parodies of the song in the past two weeks, but there’s still something about the new promo below (which aired during the American Music Awards Sunday night) that still made us laugh in uproarious fashion. Maybe it is because the entire ordeal is just so completely silly, from Miss Piggy’s fashion to all of the leaves blowing in her face. Heck, even Kermit saying “hello” at the end of the promo is funny in its own way.
Hopefully, this promo does succeed when it comes to getting some more people to watch the show on Tuesday nights. Since debuting it has lost a good chunk of its audience, which is a shame to us since we really enjoyed the first episode. (Full disclosure: We’re behind on the episodes, so in that sense maybe we are part of the problem.)
The show is going to be going on hiatus over the holidays, and will return at some point next year with some new stories in hopes of capturing the audience once again. With some creative changes behind the scenes, we could imagine the series trying to mix things up a little bit in an effort to see if they can bring in more viewers. We’ll give you more news here as we have it.
