Is ‘Quantico’ episode 9 new tonight on ABC? Also, news on Eliza Couple’s character
Tonight, you are unfortunately going to have to find some other ways to spend your evening that do not include watching “Quantico.” The ABC drama starring Priyanka Chopra is not going to be on the air, with the biggest reason for it being mostly that the network is airing the American Music Awards. The ninth episode of the season will air next Sunday, and that will be when you get a chance to learn more about what Alex’s story is going to be now that she has been taken in by the FBI.
So where are we going moving into the midseason finale and second half of the season next year? We bring this up now thanks to the recent news that “Happy Endings” alumni Eliza Coupe is going to be joining the show in a major role of FBI Agent Hannah Wyland. As executive producer Josh Safran teases to Entertainment Weekly, this is a different sort of character than many of the other agents we have met to date:
“She represents the type of agent the NATs will be in five years, versus the type they’ll be in 10 to 15, like Liam and Miranda … When we meet her in the midseason finale, she’s representative of the idea that you don’t actually have to lose your life to be an FBI agent. She’s vibrant, funny, goofy and fast. Hannah doesn’t stop who she is to fit into a suit, badge and gun. It’s a great dichotomy between the seriousness of Liam and Miranda and the hopefulness of the NATs. Those two things have always been clashing, and now we have Hannah in the middle as the bridge between the two. She’s got some connections to our characters. She’s not just from the outside world.”
We’re immensely excited about this role for many reasons. We’re a fan of Coupe’s work for one, and levity and relatability is something that, at least so far, “Quantico” has been missing. This may be a way to help out.
