‘Girl Meets World’ season 2 spoilers: First look at ‘Girl Meets the New Year’

Is it fair to say that “Girl Meets World” could be airing its most important episode of the season on Friday, December 4? Based on what we know right now about “Girl Meets the New Year,” it at least presents that opportunity. It is really the first installment that we have seen that directly touches on the events of “Girl Meets Texas,” and looks in some way to bring the Maya / Lucas / Riley love triangle to a new place.

Also, this episode could be one of the best showcases that we’ve seen to date in terms of just how good of a friend Farkle really is to Riley. The synopsis below makes it clear that without his help, she may have never mustered up the courage in the first place to confess to Lucas what she really feels about him … provided that she actually goes through with it in the first place:

“Farkle tells Riley that she has until midnight on New Year’s Eve to tell everyone how she really feels about Lucas.”

Eventually, everyone is going to have to know about her feelings, and maybe at that point almost everything will fall into place. While Maya may have feelings for him, as well, we think that she is a good enough person that if she were to realize that Lucas’ heart lied more with Riley and the feeling was mutual, she would get out of the day … not that there needs to be any hurry in the first place. It can be difficult sometimes to remember that these people are still in middle school. What’s the rush?
