‘Hannibal’ season 3, episode 11 ratings: Trying to unscramble latest numbers
The numbers are in for Saturday night’s “Hannibal” episode … sort of. The problem is trying to unscramble them this time thanks to NFL bumping the show in select markets.
With the football inflation, the show drew a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which (if it holds) would be the show’s best rating since the move to Saturday. Unfortunately, the problem here is that this rating is not going to stick more than likely. The majority of markets did not preempt the broadcast, but it was pushed off the air in Tampa, which is at least one of the top 20 markets out there. With that in mind, we envision that it will probably adjust down to a 0.3, which is the same rating it has received for most weeks since the move.
Ultimately, this rating is not going to be enough to get any additional interest in the show beyond what there already is, but we do hope that some out there do at least recognize that keeping a consistent number in a pretty terrible timeslot on Saturday night is admirable and worth something. If “Hannibal” was getting these numbers on cable, it’d be considered at least mediocre, and we’d like to think that most of the audience would follow a move to another network.
As we know now, though, there is more working against the show than just low ratings. Creator Bryan Fuller has another project coming in “American Gods,” and anyone who picks up the show would have to wait for a while. Also, there are other schedule issues to be worked out; Hugh Dancy is joining a new Hulu series, and Mads Mikkelsen is going to appear in an upcoming “Star Wars” movie.
