‘Prison Break’ revival series officially ordered at Fox
Fans of “Prison Break,” there is no more reason to worry: The show is (somehow) coming back after years off the air.
It was confirmed today by Fox that there will be ten episodes in the new version of the series, which will once again bring back original stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. We are still pretty clueless how this will happen, since (SPOILER ALERT!) Michael was killed off back when the original series came to a close. Maybe he was faking it or something? They certainly have some explaining to do there.
In a statement, Fox co-programming head Dana Walden did her part to describe the basic story of the revival with the following:
“I would describe it as a bit of a sequel; it picks up the characters several years after we left them in the last season of the show. The brothers will be back. Some of the iconic characters from that show will [also] be back. I don’t think [EP] Paul [Scheuring] knows exactly where he’s going over the 10-episode arc, but it definitely will address some questions that were set up at the end of the series for a new audience.”
It’s going to be a heck of a lot of fun to speculate on this show over the course of the next several months; the earliest this show will premiere is at some point next year, but remember that Miller and Purcell also have “Legends of Tomorrow” coming.
