‘Outlander’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Harry Potter’ actress signs up
When it comes to “Outlander” casting news, we are largely at the mercy of announcements from Starz. The series films in a remote enough part of Scotland that the paparazzi presence is not extreme, and this in turn leads to a slight element of surprise for at least those not familiar with the book series. Don’t get us wrong: We prefer it that way! We want more news throughout this Droughtlander, though all will be worth it by the time we make it to the end of the road.
What we know for now is that Frances De La Tour, otherwise known as Madame Maxine from the “Harry Potter” film universe, is going to play the role of Mother Hildegarde on the series. We do not think it is too much of a spoiler to say that she is the Mother Superior at the Paris’ L’Hopital des Anges. When you remember here Claire Fraser’s occupation coupled with the techniques that she knows thanks to being from a different time, it makes sense that De La Tour will spend some time working alongside Caitriona Balfe on the series.
We know now from talks with Sam Heughan that the series is now several episodes into production, and filming will continue to take place through most of the rest of the year. The book Dragonfly in Amber will be the inspiration behind the story, which will feature Jamie and Claire’s transition to a completely new world after taking off from Scotland.
If you want news on a potential premiere date, good luck getting it! For the time being, our feeling simply is that you will be lucky to learn this year when the series is coming back. For those curious, our guess is the spring of 2016.
