‘Mistresses’ season 3 spoilers: Show open to Alyssa Milano return; also, premiere details!
The first thing that you should know about the “Mistresses” season 3 premiere is that Alyssa Milano is going to be missing in action. This is what happens, after all, when you have someone who chooses to leave the show over the filming location. (The first two seasons where in the Los Angeles set, while season 3 moved to Vancouver to cut down in costs.)
So just in case you are wondering a little more of what to expect even without Milano present, executive producer Rita Mimoun makes it clear to TV Guide that her character of Savi is still going to be front and center with everything:
“Alyssa Milano may not be part of our premiere, but the character of Savi is very much a part of the premiere … The ripple effects of her actions [are] what the first two hours are really about and how it affects all of our women, mostly Joss [Jes Macallan], but also Karen [Yunjin Kim]. It’s kind of the point of the first two hours. So for everyone who was worried we would run away from the Savi of it all, we’re definitely not. She’s part of our show and part of our fabric.”
Meanwhile, fellow EP K.J. Steinberg confirms that “the door’s always open” for a return of Milano to the show, but we will just have to wait and see what happens. We’re not banking on seeing more of Milano, and instead we are hoping more that Jennifer Esposito is so fantastic in her new part on the show that it doesn’t cause us to spend a whole lot of time thinking about it.
