NBC’s ‘ Hannibal’ season 3, episode 2 preview: Will Graham’s arrival in Palermo

Hannibal -While the “Hannibal” season 3 premiere was the Mads Mikkelsen and Gillian Anderson hour, tonight Bryan Fuller is far from afraid to bring us a completely different sort of flavor. Specifically, you can see in the sneak peek below some evidence of what we have to look forward to next as Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) arrives in Palermo, Italy after starting to sense some evidence that could identify Hannibal Lecter’s location.

The scene below is one that we would describe simply as watching two very intelligent men trying to do just about everything that they each can individually in an effort to feel one another out. Will wants to know what / who he is working with, and understandably the feeling is very much mutual. Also, we have the feeling that Will wants to investigate more on his own terms, rather than feel his every move dictated by someone who is definitely entering the picture with his own manner of doing things.

Now, the question that you really should be pondering at this very moment is how much of Will’s actions right now are dictated by intrigue, or by deliberate plotting. Does he know that Hannibal is potentially trapping him in his own way? There are so many layers here, and with that we realize it may take a long time for this to be completely figured out.

For the time being, let’s just say that we enjoy the general rapport of this scene very much, and that has us hungry (obvious pun intended) to see what the show chooses to bring our way moving into the future.
