‘Finding Carter’ season 2, episode 9 review: What happened with Carter and Max?
Do we consider Lori a villain on “Finding Carter“? It is a complicated question with an equally complicated answer. We don’t think that the woman is out to hurt Carter in any shape or form. Almost everything that she does when it comes to Carter is done out of what she believes to be love. She does want her in her orbit, and she doesn’t want to seemingly hurt her.
However, what she does is hurting her. It is emotional manipulation of the worst kind, and we saw this in the dichotomy of how she acted both while Carter was speaking to her after she learned about the suicide attempt, and also how she acted the moment Carter left. She was told “I love you” by the woman she so wanted the affection from, but it came after such dire circumstances and pain. Lori’s actions, terrible from an emotional standpoint, set off a chain reaction that caused her to think that kissing Max in a car was a good idea. Well, doesn’t that complicate everything?
While this all took place, Taylor and Elizabeth had to come to terms with the fact that while they may not want to admit it, the truth here still is that Lori is a part of Carter’s life. She cannot make her disappear just because of the dislike that is present there.
The hardest part here for Carter is going to be admitting the truth to Taylor, who is suddenly on her side. Now that the two are on the same page, she doesn’t want to spill the beans on what happened. How do you think that this is going to end? “Sister code” was referenced, and this is one of the biggest violations of it to date.
This episode definitely packed in the drama, and in between that and the way it progressed the story forward, is probably the best in several weeks. Sooner or later we do want to see things get better, but that may not be coming in the near future. Grade: B+.

The Lori character is the worst part of the show. Her story/manipulation is to the point now that it brings the show down in a bad way. And the Carter and Max thing, seriously they went there as there was no need for that – a show works on relationships and Taylor and Carter are the center of it all now this wedge to further disjoint the show.

Also, does anyone who works on this show recognize that Carter is a minor? I can’t see Lori being allowed to have contact with any minors, let alone her victim, never mind the doctors actually contacting the underage victim without her parents’ permission and asking her to come down and “help” Lori with zero concern for how this totally crazy scenario plus the emotional manipulation happening right before their eyes would affect the child. So realistic.

The show runners need to get over their obsession with Lori, period. It’s ruining the show. Watching Carter being manipulated by a psycho every week is simply not entertaining. The character just doesn’t work, it’s time to move on.

I honestly feel SO sorry for Carter. I would love for a regular teen to go through everything Carter has been through and see how they react. Most adults couldn’t handle that maturely! It just makes me sad because you can see that Carter actually DOES try but every time something is going well in her life, the whole Lori thing bites her in the butt again! I can’t even fathom dealing with that myself, let alone as a teenager!

I agree with Hannah, Carter is not likable and its a real drag on the show. It is because of Lori that she is not likable and they need to fix it, I know so many people who have stopped watching this season.

This show is so horrible now. Carter sleeping with Max seriously writers you couldn’t come up with anything better. Rehashed and regurgitated drivel of a plot line done hundreds of times that only furthers the problem with this show. The main character is not likable. Not to mention everyone is over Lori and her story but they keep going back to it.
