‘Finding Carter’ season 2, episode 9 review: What happened with Carter and Max?

Finding Carter -Do we consider Lori a villain on “Finding Carter“? It is a complicated question with an equally complicated answer. We don’t think that the woman is out to hurt Carter in any shape or form. Almost everything that she does when it comes to Carter is done out of what she believes to be love. She does want her in her orbit, and she doesn’t want to seemingly hurt her.

However, what she does is hurting her. It is emotional manipulation of the worst kind, and we saw this in the dichotomy of how she acted both while Carter was speaking to her after she learned about the suicide attempt, and also how she acted the moment Carter left. She was told “I love you” by the woman she so wanted the affection from, but it came after such dire circumstances and pain. Lori’s actions, terrible from an emotional standpoint, set off a chain reaction that caused her to think that kissing Max in a car was a good idea. Well, doesn’t that complicate everything?

While this all took place, Taylor and Elizabeth had to come to terms with the fact that while they may not want to admit it, the truth here still is that Lori is a part of Carter’s life. She cannot make her disappear just because of the dislike that is present there.

The hardest part here for Carter is going to be admitting the truth to Taylor, who is suddenly on her side. Now that the two are on the same page, she doesn’t want to spill the beans on what happened. How do you think that this is going to end? “Sister code” was referenced, and this is one of the biggest violations of it to date.

This episode definitely packed in the drama, and in between that and the way it progressed the story forward, is probably the best in several weeks. Sooner or later we do want to see things get better, but that may not be coming in the near future. Grade: B+.
