‘Criminal Minds’ season 10 spoilers: Finale could be big for Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Kate

Criminal Minds -The tenth season of “Criminal Minds” began with us getting our first introduction to Jennifer Love Hewitt and her character of Kate Callahan. With that in mind, is it possible that the finale could be a bookend, and focuses on another story that is close to the character? Based on some of what we are hearing now, it certainly seems like it. It also seems like this story will start to ramp up before we even get to the last episode this season.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Erica Messer makes it clear that there is a huge story coming when it comes to Meg and her friend, which will put Kate (who is expecting a child, just as Hewitt is in real life) in a difficult position of trying to figure out how to save her:

“By the end of episode 22, we do a mini cliffhanger in that we know that Meg and her best friend are being kidnapped by the guy we saw in the premiere … [The finale] is our team fighting for one of our own to get her loved one back.”

While “Criminal Minds” is not renewed just yet for an eleventh season, it feels pretty well assured that it is going to be. One of the interesting stories that will come with that is starting to figure out more how the show will handle Hewitt and AJ Cook’s pregnancies when production begins. Will they come up with a way to write both Kate and JJ out for a little while? That seems to at least be one way to handle this while they take some time off.
