‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2 video: Mutiny, madness in extended scene
It was revealed recently that the second season of AMC’s stellar series “Halt and Catch Fire” will premiere on Sunday, May 31, but you don’t have to wait that long to check out an extended preview from the premiere. The network released this over the weekend, and you can take a look at it below.
The first thing that you should know from watching this is that there is an extended time jump between the end of season 1 and the start of season 2. For one, Cameron’s hair is much longer than we remember it, and their Mutiny operation is going much stronger now than it was when we last saw it. If you recall, she decided to start this with Donna in the wake of the Joe MacMillan fiasco, COMDEX, and the general feeling that something creative and ambitious was being scrapped for something that was cheap and would have mass-market appeal in the computer industry.
Mutiny looks and feels like you would assume a rogue computer networking brand would: Chaotic. In some ways, it feels like a time-capsule version of the house from “Silicon Valley,” with work and play being mixed and with various people running around complaining about this or that.
The big problem the group seems to be facing right now is strictly resources. Donna points out that they need to take things offline in order to figure out the source of the resource hog, but Cameron’s insistent on them keeping things going. Then, what seems to be a gaming attempt by one of the guys leads to a power outage, potentially of the entire block. With the financial situation of Mutiny unclear, this is going to be costly.
