‘Halt and Catch Fire’ season 2 premiere set for May 31

Halt and Catch Fire -Fans of “Halt and Catch Fire,” rejoice! We know now when the series is going to be returning to AMC for its second season. The network confirmed on Thursday that Sunday, May 31 at 10:00 p.m. Eastern time will be the show’s start date, which basically means that it will premiere right around the time that “Mad Men” is over. That show is going to be concluding a little earlier in the month after a whopping seven seasons on the air. In a way we’re intrigued by how closely the two shows are to each other, given that we feel there are some similarities, whether it be the sole fact that they are each period dramas, or that they feature men with questionable views of morality and the surrounding world.

In addition to the premiere date, executive producer Jonathan Lisco also added the following in a statement:

“To our passionate core audience and the critics who loved the show through Season 1 — we thank you sincerely for your support. Season 2 won’t disappoint … We’re going to drill down even deeper into these characters we’ve created, to give you all the emotional and psychological depth you’ve come to expect from Halt and Catch Fire, while at the same time evolving the show to be brasher and even more addictive.”

Ultimately, what we are the most hopeful about when it comes to this new season is that more people watch. We already feel like this is an intriguing, thought-provoking series, but ultimately just not one that a whole lot of people know about.
