‘Survivor: Worlds Apart’ castaway spotlight: Will Sierra Dawn Thomas race to the finish line?
It has taken a while to get here, but we finally have: The last “Survivor: Worlds Apart” castaway spotlight of the season. Can you believe that we are mere days away from the premiere? Tomorrow, we’re going to publish our semi-annual predictions article, and hopefully on Wednesday we’ll have a more in-depth video preview for the season. We admittedly isolate ourselves from information, other than the cast videos and bios, during this process, at in terms of the Jeff Probst cast assessment or any actual footage from the show.
Today, we close off with someone in Sierra Dawn Thomas who is an interesting addition to the Blue Collar tribe. While she is a barrel racer and comes from a ranching background, is she going to mesh with the rest of her tribe? This is going to be interesting to watch unfold over the first few weeks in the game.
Name – Sierra Dawn Thomas
Age – 27
Location – Roy, Utah
Occupation – Barrel racing (we found a video of her doing this, which you can see below).
Tribe – Escameca a.k.a. Blue Collar
Strengths – She seems to possess quite a bit of what you need to do well in this game. She’s obviously competitive, and knows a thing or two about being outdoors and also working hard to achieve something. Also, we imagine that being a part of a sport we never heard of prior to seeing her on the show is not the most glamorous thing in the world. She claims that sometimes on the road she lives on “gas station food,” which is probably about equal to “Survivor” food most of the time.
Weaknesses – She says that there are people who tend to judge her, and have a hard time believing that she is a cowgirl / barrel racer. The fact that she is 6’1” and also a model probably will make her come across as intimidating to some of the other people in her tribe. She really needs to get in there right away and prove that she is hard-working and an asset in the challenges.
Past “Survivor” comparison – She says Parvati, which to us means she has probably never watched the show before. How do you not say Andrea here? They have similar backgrounds, and almost similar outlooks on the game! Dolly from Vanuatu is also a decent comparison in terms of background.
Prediction – We like the fact that Sierra is bringing to the surface a sport that is so Americana, and probably forgotten by the mainstream. However, that doesn’t mean that we like her chances in the game. She’s very different than everyone else in her tribe, and could be an outcast from the start. She could prove herself and go very far in this game, but it’s all up to her. If she slouches early, she could be one of the first people out.
