‘True Detective’ season 2 spoilers: Rick Springfield speaks out!
As we said last weekend, there has not been a whole lot of news or updates about “True Detective” season 2 as of late, even if we understand very well why that is. After all, this is a show that wants to do everything that it can to keep its storyline a secret, and to not even share all of its guest stars with the public.
This is a sentiment that is reflected in some new comments from singer / actor Rick Springfield, who is making at least two guest appearances on the show this season. He told the New York Post that he has already filmed one episode, and he may have another one coming in March. He also talks about just how coy they are being with the show’s secrets:
“[HBO] wouldn’t even acknowledge that I was in the cast, initially … They have a CIA clamp on. Someone offered one of the makeup people like 10 grand to spill the beans on the new season!”
We are definitely excited with the show giving us a very different storyline this time, at least based on what few details we know. The police are still taking center stage here, and the setting will be in various parts of California. On the surface, Vince Vaughn appears to be the villain, a career criminal who gets mixed up with law enforcement on a complicated case.
There is not even a premiere date announced yet for “True Detective” season 2, though if we had to guess, we would probably say that the show is coming up at some point in the summer / early fall, maybe in place of “Boardwalk Empire.”
