‘Game of Thrones’ season 5 trailer hits internet after IMAX screenings
Well, we knew that there was going to be the first trailer for “Game of Thrones” season 5 alongside some of the IMAX screenings of the final two episodes of season 4, and now, we’ve had a chance to view it for ourselves!
So how can you watch it? We’d suggest just taking a look across YouTube. We’re not going to embed anything in here for a pair of reasons, including waiting for an official version from HBO and also because we don’t want to encourage too many people getting thrown out of movie theaters because they’re trying to illegally record something. (We do feel like the network dropped the ball with this, though; they should have just released an official version to ensure that this wouldn’t happen.)
As for what the trailer contains, there are a few notable moments that include Tyrion on the run (sporting a beard!), a far more intense story for Dany than anything that we had during the fourth season, Sansa continuing to show more of her darker side, and also your first real look at the show’s version of Dorne. It runs for about two minutes, and it should be a nice little gift for those of you eager to see something more when it comes to the series.
Unfortunately, it is going to have to tide you over until Sunday, April 12. After all, this is when the series is going to be returning to HBO with all-new episodes. We’re sure that there will be at least one other trailer released before then, so you have something else to look forward to.
What is your take on the trailer, provided that you’ve seen it? Share with a comment, and head over here for a very cryptic (but still cool) tease coming in from Emilia Clarke. Also, sign up to score some other TV updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter! (Photo: HBO.)
