‘The View’: Return date set for Rosie Perez after rumors
Clearly, the folks over at “The View” are very much invested in making sure you know one thing: Rosie Perez is not going anywhere.
Speaking to TV Guide, a rep for ABC made it clear that after she is done preparing for her role on a Broadway show, the actress will be coming back on the panel, and continuing some of the work that she has done to date. This comes following rumors that she was going to be let go from the show, which has struggled somewhat since its relaunch and was even defeated recently in daytime ratings by “The Talk,” which is basically CBS’ own interpretation of the show.
Here is what that statement said in full:
“We look forward to welcoming the multi-talented Rosie Perez back to her seat as co-host on the panel on Feb. 3 after completing rehearsals … She brings her rich life experience and passion to the table, something we’ve sorely missed while she’s been away.”
Of course, it is also possible that Perez could leave the show at the end of the season, but so could anyone else for that matter. “The View” almost has a combative relationship at this point with the media, based on some of the ways that it responds to rumors. For example, they seemed desperate for a time last year to show that Elizabeth Hasselbeck was not leaving the show, though she did eventually decide to take a job over on “Fox & Friends” rather than stay put.
We are going to have more on this saga as news continues to come out for it. Maybe this is going to be the end of some of this drama for a little while, but we have a hard time at the moment believing that to be true.
