‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5, episode 14 video: A Lucy Hale, Tyler Blackburn scene

While there are many popular pairings on “Pretty Little Liars,” one of the things that is occasionally cool about the ABC Family show is getting the chance to really see some unusual, surprising pairings for a change.

This is what makes the sneak peek below from the January 6 winter premiere so interesting. How often do you get a real shot to see Caleb and Aria in the same scene together? The answer to that is “not that often at all.” We like Tyler Blackburn and Lucy Hale, and the two work off of each other pretty well.

As for the content, it appears at first that Aria is seeking out an update from Caleb on the state of hacking Mona, but instead, we learn that Aria has a slightly different agenda than what anyone first thought: Trying to get some information about why she hasn’t gotten into her desired college. Specifically, she is quick to ring a conspiracy alarm or two, thinking that “A” may be sabotaging her future. She wants Caleb’s help, and in turn, he decides to maker some sort of student.

In the end, this is a story we could sign off on, mostly because it gives us an opportunity to see these two characters together, who don’t often get a chance to without Hanna or someone else around. Also, we’re always interested in seeing a Liar expand their skill set, and this could be a really cool opportunity for Aria to develop some useful talents for future episodes.
