‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ spoilers: First look at Lily Rabe’s return

Lily Rabe -Want to get people excited for a winter finale of “American Horror Story“? Apparently, one of the biggest ways that you can possibly do that is by injecting someone from a past season into the current one.

Wednesday night marks the first opportunity that we’ve had to see Lily Rabe back as Sister Mary Eunice, and the photo above is proof of her appearance on “Freak Show.” Just to put things into a timeline here, this season is set years before the beginning of events in “American Horror Story: Asylum,” so at this moment, Mary Eunice is still a chaste, kindly nun who works at Briarcliff surrounded by all of the insanity that continually unfolds there.

As for why we’re not seeing more of Rabe on this season, the biggest reason for that is that she has been spending her time instead filming an upcoming show over on ABC. Since production for this said show is in Vancouver, that makes it rather difficult to get all the way down to New Orleans in order to film some more scenes.

The reason for Mary Eunice’s arrival seems to be simple enough: Take Pepper up to Briarcliff, as she is the biggest connection between the two seasons. This character became a fan favorite on “Asylum,” and it is thanks to this that we had a really good opportunity to see her present in Jupiter, Florida.
