‘The Walking Dead’ season 5, episode 9: The sexuality of Daryl Dixon
Moving forward, are we finally going to see something on “The Walking Dead” when it comes to Daryl Dixon and romance? It is a little early to say that, but we do at least know what gender the character is now interested in.
After months of rumors about the sexuality for Norman Reedus’ character, which likely sparked from his lack of interest in really being with anyone on the show so far. Robert Kirkman even took a question on this in one of his “Walking Dead” comics.
However, Kirkman confirmed last night on “Talking Dead” that Daryl is in fact straight, though it does seem that at least one prominent gay character from the comics is coming up soon:
“I just wanted to clarify that the possibility is there and that I would have been fine with it, the network would have been fine with it — but we ultimately didn’t do that. I can make it official: Daryl Dixon is straight … We’re not holding back information on Daryl’s sexuality as any sort of big reveal. The fact that there’s still a question as to what Daryl’s orientation is in Season 5 absolutely speaks to Daryl’s character; he is a very guarded, very closed-off individual in a lot of ways.”
Personally, we feel like the secret for Daryl could very well be something like he is a virgin, or he got his heart broken at such an early age that he never really considered romance again.
In the end, we’re sure that all of those who ‘ship Carol and Daryl are probably feeling pretty good about themselves right now.
