‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7 video: Kurt Sutter, Paris Barclay reflect before episode 12
We have two episodes to go before “Sons of Anarchy” ends its run, and the sad news is that you’re going to be waiting for a little longer to see this story eventually conclude. “Red Rose” isn’t airing until a week from Tuesday, thanks in part to FX deciding that they do not want to put anything new out there right before Thanksgiving.
So while you wait, here’s an opportunity to get all nostalgic over the series courtesy of creator Kurt Sutter and executive producer / frequent director Paris Barclay. In the video below via the network’s YouTube, the two men discuss the overall legacy of the show, and Sutter has a fascinating perspective on it. He isn’t setting out to have the finale be some huge, earth-shattering event that is different than the rest of the show. He wants to make sure that it is just another component in his world, with the difference being that there is not another episode coming up once it ends.
Meanwhile, Barclay hopes that viewers years from now remember this show as one of the great stories told on cable television in between such other legacy series as “The Shield” or “The Walking Dead” over on AMC. All of them tell these intense, complicated stories with great casts and tremendous writing. They also all happen to be commercial smash hits.
In the end, the most important thing about the final two episodes is that they compel us, they move us, and they make us want to talk about the show. As storytellers, maybe they even inspire us. It doesn’t so much matter on this end who lives or who dies, so long as the stories are earned and told in a way that suits the universe. We have every bit of faith that Sutter, Barclay, and the rest of the team will find a way to pull this off.

Sounds like a good opportunity to break out the DVDs and watch it all from the beginning. Season 1, here we go!
