‘The Walking Dead’ season 5, episode 7 preview: A Chandler Riggs pep talk in ‘Crossed’
What lies ahead on Sunday’s “The Walking Dead”? Probably more stories stuffed into a single episode than we’ve had in a while. The title for this episode is “Crossed,” which to us feels like a pretty obvious nod to the fact that there are probably going to be an extensive number of storylines that en up crossing paths over the course of this hour.
If nothing else, we know for certain that we are going to be seeing the group at the church try to do their part to prepare to leave, and this even includes Carl convincing Father Gabriel to pack up and go, and that it’s dangerous to be one place for too long.
While Michonne is present, the sneak peek video focuses almost entirely on Chandler Riggs and Seth Gilliam’s characters as he pleads with him to take off for this place, and that they can teach him to fight … if for some random event he does not know how to already.
This, at least at the moment, is the extremely tricky thing about this preview: It’s really quite a test as to whether or not Gabriel is all that he’s cracked up to be. We do feel pretty confident that he’s lying about something, since it’s hard to think that he has gone this long without even killing a walker. With that being said, what could it be?
Then again, there is a certain part of us that thinks it would be fun to see a different story beyond what we just saw out of Eugene.
