‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7, episode 11 preview: Is Katey Sagal’s Gemma doomed in ‘Suits of Woe’?
We cannot say that in-season, we have anticipated an episode of “Sons of Anarchy” airing quite like we are Tuesday night’s new one entitled “Suits of Woe.” This installment certainly has the potential to be powerful, heart-wrenching, and so many more adjectives that we can only hope to begin describing right now.
First and foremost, let’s start things off here by laying out just what the situation really is. Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) now has word that Gemma (Katey Sagal) is responsible for the death of Tara, and he has it via his son Abel. Does he doubt him at all? It’s hard to imagine a situation where he really would, given that there is almost zero motivation for Abel to lie or imagine something like this. Maybe he spends a few minutes tonight investigating, but then starts to really think things through. Henry Lin couldn’t have done it, Gemma is not accounted for at around the time Tara dead, and there could be some possible evidence of wrongdoing if he has a sit-down meeting with Unser.
So could tonight by Gemma’s last bow? You would think that it’s possible, given Jax’s quick temper and rage at this point. With that being said, though, would Gemma dying so quickly deprive us of all the great drama this dynamic could provide? The one thing that we are sure of is that it would feel strange to take ten episodes to get to this point, only for the character to be dead within a matter of minutes tonight. Gemma is crafty, extremely so. She is capable of coming up with a few unique ways to stay alive.
If there are characters to fear for going into tonight, we would say at the center of it would be people like Juice if Jax can get to him, or maybe someone Nero becomes collateral damage. We love Jimmy Smits, but to be honest we’re somewhat surprised that this character has lasted this long on the show.
