ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 4: Guillermo Diaz, Katie Lowes, and Halloween ‘fun’ on ‘Ellen’

Given that today is Halloween, it does seem appropriate that this would be the time to share one of the spookier videos that has come out of the day so far; and no, this does not involve in any involve some of those horrifying costumes on morning television today.

Instead, “Scandal” star Guillermo Diaz got in a pretty frightening prank on Katie Lowes tonight, as the actress seemed ready and prepared for the possibility of someone creeping up on her an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” After all, this is something that tends to happen here with a variety of different celebrities.

This video is mostly funny by how long it takes Katie (who plays Quinn) to figure out that ultimately, the man who was scaring her was her co-star and onscreen love interest. It’s just so much fun to see how quickly Guillermo changes from being the scary dude to the warm, super-friendly guy that he seems to be in real life.

We do have to admit that there is a certain part of watching these “Ellen” videos that we have always found to be a little bit strange, and it is probably that we are personally afraid constantly that she is going to give someone a heart attack in the middle of one of her segments. Also, we’re not sure that we would ever want to go on a show where people can jump out at you at almost any moment.

New episodes of the show will continue airing on ABC Thursday nights at 9:00 p.m. Eastern.
