‘Doctor Who’ season 8, episode 3 video: One final ‘Robot of Sherwood’ peek
Is there really “no such thing as Robin Hood”? This is at least what The Doctor wants us to believe when it comes to tomorrow’s episode of “Doctor Who,” which carries with it the title of “Robot of Sherwood.”
Before we say too much else, allow us to preemptively celebrate this episode a little bit for providing us plenty of reasons to be excited. We are longtime fans of Robin Hood, and just in itself is enough for us to be extremely stoked to see what happens here. Also, we are enormous fans of Mark Gatiss, who penned this episode. Gatiss is typically busy working on “Sherlock,” so it was nice to see him jump over here for an installment. He’ll be back to do another one in season 9, as well.
As for what the primary story of this particular episode will be, just think along the lines of Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman’s characters working tirelessly in order to try to solve a mystery in Sherwood Forest. Hopefully, there will also be plenty of action and humor in here to boot. We felt like “Into the Dalek” was a huge step in the right direction following “Deep Breath,” and we hope that this can keep that same level of humor going without making things incredibly convoluted at the same time.
After this episode airs, just be relieved that there are still plenty more to come, and therefore many other reasons to be excited about the rest of the season. Hopefully, this will meet expectations, or at least be as cool as the promos make it out to be.
One thing we do know already is that at least one scene was cut from the episode at the last minute out of sensitivity for recent events in the Middle East.
