‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 8 spoilers: Where the story picks up with Sheldon
Before we do anything else, let us celebrate the news today that “The Big Bang Theory” season 8 is officially starting production! Hooray! No longer is there any reason to worry about whether or not you’ll be seeing Dr. Sheldon Cooper or anyone else on your TV screen come September 22.
The cast has already received the first script for the new season, and now, we are here to answer another question: Whether or not Dr. Sheldon Cooper ever got on that train in the first place. We saw this moment sort-of take place during the season 7 finale, as he was at the train station ready to board a train to destinations unknown.
The common theory, though, was that he may have chickened out before every getting aboard, and we have confirmation now that this is not the case. Speaking to TVLine, it is confirmed that Jim Parsons’ character did end up boarding a train, and this will be a part of the story in the premiere. However, whether or not he ever got off of the train somewhere else is a very different story. It would be so Sheldon for him to get aboard a train, only to chicken out before he ever actually stepped food on land again. That is why we would be completely unsurprised if something like this were to happen. Still, this would be seen as a big step forward for Sheldon, and something that he should be very proud of when the dust settles.
As for what will have happened with the other characters, we know that Leonard and Penny may be celebrating their engagement still … and we wonder if Kaley Cuoco’s haircut is going to actually make it onto the show. After several years of Penny sporting the same look, it could be time for a change.
