‘The Newsroom’ season 3: Another farewell via Olivia Munn
Over the past few weeks, we’ve had to prepare ourselves for something that we really didn’t want to see coming for quite a while: The end of “The Newsroom” on HBO. This was a show that entertained us thoroughly the past two years, and it’s upcoming third will be the last. (There’s no premiere date for that just yet, but we’ll have some further updates as they become available.)
We’ve shared a few assorted farewells from the cast over the past couple of weeks, and the one for Olivia Munn is short, but sweet. In a post on Twitter, she thanked HBO and the cast and crew for “an amazing experience” the past few years. This was a nice change-of-pace role for her, given that she was mostly known for comedy prior to taking part in the series. Munn’s co-star(and occasional onscreen love interest) Thomas Sadoksi also shared a message of his own on the social-media site, enclosed with a “Vaya con Dios” to his character of Don Keefer.
The only thing that can be assumed right now about season 3 of “The Newsroom” is that there will be a relative jump jump, given how the show likes to stay at least reasonably close to the present, and there will have been more than a year that has passed since the end of last season. There may be little fluctuations thrown in there, but we will just have to see what happens.
As for the characters, is it too much to ask for Don and Sloan to be happy? We came to root for them almost more than anyone else during season 2.
