ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic, secrets, and struggles
If you remember back to a few seasons ago, the theme for “Castle” was secrets (hence us attaching the old photo) as he both Rick and Kate tried to hide certain things from the other … for a given period of time, anyway. All the information eventually rose to the surface, and that’s what has caused the two of them to be close to walking down the aisle.
Granted, the operating word there is “close.” A mystery person kept that from happening by kidnapping Rick, and we’re still waiting to see what happens there. What is interesting to us, though, is that the new showrunner is suggesting that a new face with ties from Rick’s past is going to largely be the force behind the kidnapping, not necessarily 3XK, which has been one of the common theories. Just take a look at what he said to TV Guide about that:
“The mythology we’re getting into is going to go past all that into some new territory .. Those are all fair game, but it’s not going to be what the opening of the season is about.”
Now, we turn to exhibit B when it comes to how this all may be tied to skeletons in Castle’s closet:
“Things that are going to come to light that are going to be unsettling for Beckett, But we’re committed to that relationship. I don’t think what happened to Castle is going to disrupt the trajectory of that relationship, at least not in the long term.”
We don’t necessarily believe that Rick is keeping anything malevolent from his bride-to-be, and that would be out of character for him to. Our real theory here is that if there is a secret about his past she is not aware of, it’s an unintentional one, or something he didn’t believe mattered anymore. Either way, he may regret not sharing that information as she struggles to find what happened to him.

If they don’t get married in the first three episodes then I am done with this series. 4 years to get together, 1 year of dating, 1 year of an engagement and now they want to trash all of that and start over.

I really think that if the writers feel that they are being clever by introducing (or reintroducing) something from Castle’s past that significantly slows down the wedding and the Caskett relationship, they will all be looking for new jobs.

Well Rick, they are getting 23 ep’s this season & everything that I’ve read about Nathan leads me to believe this will be the last season of Castle anyway. Nathan has said in the past that he likes the way the BBC does shows & ends them while the show is still good. He’s said that 7 seasons seems to him to be a good time to end the show & now just recently his buddy James Gunn director of the new Guardians of the Galaxy movie has said that he would love to get Nathan a larger part in that universe which wasn’t possible due to his Castle schedule. Not to mention Joss Whedon could also give him a larger part in his Marvel movies so my guess is the writers will be looking for work come May anyway. I’m a huge fan of Nathan, Stana & this show but I’m already preparing myself for the end…. Ok cue S.I.L.G.F.C.

So it seems that if your conjectures and information are correct we will never know if Beckett becomes a senator and if Caskett has 3 children!?!? (See “Time will tell”) Then again, maybe in Episode 23 they will jump forward 20 years (let the make-up people play) and show us what will become of our Caskett family.

I feel they take the only great show on Monday night and trash it. How did ABC let them do that

I love how people think a “kidnapping” has taken place. You know what they say about people who make assumptions, right?

If the secret is something quite dark, it would easily be the worst premiere of Castle ever, though doesn’t look like it. There was said to be a very funny episode in the first 4 episodes, so obviously it’s not something that would carry out very long.
