‘Community’ season 6: Ken Jeong joins new comedy pilot; what does it mean?
Ken Jeong is going to making another effort to break out in the pilot business.
Since being a part of “Community,” we have seen Jeong sign on to at least one pilot, only for the show to ultimately not go anywhere in the end. For fans of the onetime-NBC series, this was probably a good thing since it secured that we would see more of Chang. As of this latest gig, what we can at least tell you right now is that it won’t impact him appearing in the sixth season over on Yahoo.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ken will join an MTV pilot entitled (fittingly) “Ken Jeong Made Me Do It.” He will play himself, who tries to counsel a 22-year old guy in the ways to be a man after the guy rear-ends Ken’s car, not too long after finding out that his girlfriend is cheating on him. This guy is clearly having a pretty bad day.
It’s easy to be happy for Ken, given that he is one of those actors who has worked hard, and there is literally not a single person out there who has said anything terrible about him at all. Are we worried about whether or not this show could keep him from an eventual seventh season of “Community”? Sure, but that is far down the pipeline. For the time being, let’s just focus on season 6, given that contracts for many of the actors may expire after that and these actors may want to actually go find consistent work rather than something that is completely an unknown the majority of the time. We at least know that Yahoo is interested potentially in more than one season.
